Patagonia Catharsis
CATHARSIS means to clean away the unclean conditioning - a
purging into purity. We call Catharsis a "de-wimping"
immersion course, and it is not for the merely macho. As
balance is besought, grace, harmony, gentleness, and love
will immerse as both Wholeness and Oneness begin to
manifest, inviting its people to remember and to return,
gracefully, the moment.
Look life in the face and go at it front on,
taking on the outer forces and using them
to guide you internally.
CATHARSIS is for lovers of life, enjoyers of the creation,
seekers and celebrants, pioneers and adventurers.
About the school
The whole planet earth is in a great state of flux. We find
that natures forces bring us here, to as pure a Nature as we
can possibly find in this world. Here we are at one with
the world’s time, and find that amoung the wolrd’s sordid
turmoil, there is a place, here, which gives our values
meaning. Here we find peace and purpose. This is not only a
place to vacation, as we cannot
vacation without purpose. Here we seek. What we seek
is something we want to share. a climate as we can find. Do
we think that doom and gloom hold sway? Nay, for happenings
carry the realism that is truth, and one of the first
phenomenons we have witnessed here is that the Earth Story
is one of love. Will there be challenge then? Yes of course.
Will there be chaos? Maybe – ask other creatures, as they
dwindle away, if there is not confusion in their going. Are
we fit to handle this coming Change? CATHARSIS. Are we able
to dance to the music of Change?
CATHARSIS, survival in style
This school is located in the vast area in the Argentine
Patagonia, stretching across miles of high streppe land,
river valleys, meadows and cliff-faces, right into the very
heart of the Andes. It carries through, reaching the
boarder of Chile, where it finally stops. It is a huge
land, filled with natures miracles, with its endless crystal
clear rivers and streams, and picturesque scenes of valley
scapes with eagles souring. Fly-fishing at Ranquilco is a
world-class experience, and definitely like no other.
Few people ever experience the heart of these lands, but
when they do, it is usually on horseback, as it lies behind
all roads and other access. Horseback brings one gracefully
into the deep peace that exists only here. There are no
phones or televisions, and electricity is generated by
falling water. Ranquilco also has all the luxuries of a
swimming pool, squash and volleyball courts, mini gym,
running track and a riverside log sauna.
Ranquilco is a place out of time, where dreams of the past
are not yet forgotten, but are re-kindled. Ranquilco is the
chance to re-create oneself. That is why you go. You
return for the magic, that is why you go back time & time
again
About the school
Experience the 5 month course, designed for people who want
to immerse themselves in deep nature, upgrading their
relationship with both themselves and the earth, to enjoy a
fuller life experience. Survival in Style
Take up horseback riding to see the wondrous sights of the
vast natural beauty that is the area. Learn to fly-fish in
the most crystal clear rivers and streams you will ever
encounter.
The highlights
The feeling of being at one with the natural environment out
here. Being fulfilled and closer to the earth. If there is a
Shangri-La in existence today, it would be hidden
deep in the Argentine Patagonia cordillera, where eagles fly
high over the pristine river valleys and mountain peaks
eerily untouched by humans. Horseback riding in picture
paradise. Fly fishing in crystal clear rivers and streams.
The programs
Catharsis offers one spring course (Oct-Dec) and one summer
course (Jan-April) each year. We recommend students to
consider doing the two courses sequentially. We feel the
extended time in these climates greatly benefits the
individual, as it emphasizes the messages of natural peace,
and gently displaces the challenging conditions, leaving
them with new found energies and feelings of tranquility and
rightness.
The course includes
-
Premaculture Design Certificate Course (October)
-
Working amongst the land. (December) Laboring with
natural resources. Here we will build trails, tend
livestock, do gardening and orcharding.
-
Yoga, stretching, and other exercises.
-
A two week Wilderness Adaptation and Awareness Course,
including a 10 day excursion into the High Andes.
-
Two week “vacation” so that some other parts of South
America, such as Chile, Tierra del Fuego, etc can be
experienced.
-
Equestrian Immersion month (February)
-
Ranquilco’s Patagonia Survival Course (second and third
weeks)
