Location
Bolivia is situated between Peru, Paraguay, Argentina,
Brazil and Chile. It also straddles the Andes. Bolivia is
the highest and most isolated of the Andean nations in the
whole of South America. Bolivia has a versatile climate and
terrain, expressing all kinds imaginable in parts, from the
snow capped peaks of over 21,000ft to the semi-tropical
lowlands, or the steaming jungles of the Bolivian Amazon
Basin. Bolivia is home to Lake Titicaca, the highest
navigable inland sea in the world. This sea is home to
crystal blue waters, reed boats and islands known for
pre-Columbian ruins. As well as its great scenery, Bolivia
gives the opportunity to see many different plants, insects,
exotic birds and animals.
The School
At our school, you can study Spanish in the heart of the
vibrant city of Sucre, Bolivia. The programs here are known
to be perfect for those who want to quickly develop a
working knowledge of Spanish, and also learn Bolivian and
Spanish culture and customs in this fascinating area.
Whether you know a little or a lot, you will get an
experience of a lifetime interacting with the culture. Our
simple testing systems, means we are sure to place any
student at their own level of knowledge and comfort. Weekly
evaluations mean each student is moved through the classes
at their own pace, yet ensuring they are continually
challenged but not frustrated being slightly ahead or behind
their classmates.
Highlights
Bolivia is amongst the safest countries in the world with a
low crime rating. Sucre is classed one of the safest cities
in Bolivia.
It’s cheap to live here, especially compared to North
America and Europe. It’s also a cheap place to go to and
from, with cheap domestic flights. This makes it great as a
base for discovering other parts of Bolivia.
Relatively undiscovered by travelers, Bolivia gives a true
cultural immersion experience. The city of Sucre is full of
old churches, museums, parks, shops, bars and restaurants.
Dinosaur tracks: located just 5 kilometers outside Sucre at
the cement factory, the world's largest dinosaur tracks
site, with over 150 varieties of tracks, and over 5000
impressions from the Cretassic period.

families: Families belong to
Bolivia's middle class, although students should take note
that living standards in Bolivia are much lower than North
America or Europe. Family homes are located in neighborhoods
usually not more than a 20-30 minute walk to school.
Participants choosing to stay with a family should recognize
that a certain degree of flexibility will be required to
adjust to the Bolivian way of life.
Family
consideration: One of the most
important parts of your learning and cultural experience is
the homestay portion.
