Mexico - Puerto school Location Puerto Escondido is a small coastal village in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, approximately 200 miles south of Acapulco.  Puerto Escondido is known for its beautiful beaches, its coastal culture and variety of activities including world class surfing, fishing and diving.  Puerto Escondido has attracted the attention of foreign travelers in recent years, and flights now arrive daily from Mexico City into the international airport. Puerto Escondido engages a sense of being “off-the-beaten-path,” while at the same time providing all the amenities and security that make for a safe and pleasant visit.  This is just a few of the reasons why Puerto Escondido is a perfect place for you to immerse yourself in the Spanish language and Mexican culture. The School Our school is conveniently located on a bus route, just meters from the famous Mexican Pipeline. Here you can enjoy the pleasant beach atmosphere and be near all the activities Puerto Escondido has to offer.  Our school is based on the belief that a strong linguistic foundation is created though the development of the four pillars of language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.  This is a great way to learn and practice your Spanish immediately, and is also easy and fun. The Programs Our programs range anywhere from one week courses, through to two and three week programs.  You can also choose one of our long term programs, which can be for up to months. Spend a few hours a day in Spanish lessons (minimum session is 2 hours), and mix it up with either a surf lesson in Spanish or salsa dancing class for example. The Highlights Learn to surf in the world famous Puerto Escondido waves.  Many people travel to this area every year to experience some of the most hollow, tubing waves in the world. Take up salsa dancing, learn Oaxacan style cooking, learn about local artesanry, or learn to surf with our optional workshops.  This is a great way to learn something new and broaden your experience as they are taught entirely in Spanish. We have many volunteer opportunities in amongst the local community.  Volunteering is a great chance to interact with the peoples of Puerto Escondido, and learn Spanish through hands-on activities. There are a number of excursions to choose from, ranging from rock-climbing, to ecological tours and fun-day excursions.  These durations and prices vary.  Accommodation Home-stays Stay with one of our carefully selected Mexican families absorbing the unique culture and everyday activities of Mexican life.  Our friendly and inviting families will help you learn about their culture and this is a great way to be immersed in the Spanish language! Villas Carrizalillo This boutique hotel is situated on the cliffs overlooking the scenic Playa Carrizalillo in Puerto Escondido.  This hotel gives you the feeling of being in an isolated location, just 5 minutes from the local market and grocery store, or a variety of restaurants and shopping.
