Panama Bocas Del Toro
Location
The country of Panama (which means “abundance of fish”) is
mostly known for its man-made canal, which is one of the
engineering marvels of the world. It also has much more to
offer. Panama has a total of 1518 islands off the coasts,
and surfers, deep sea fishers, divers and sailors have all
described Panama as their heaven on earth.
Traditional Spanish festivals are big in Panama, mostly
celebrated in the interior of the country. Panama has a
rich history, as Peruvian gold was carried by Spaniards from
here to the Caribbean Coastal area of Portobello, where it
was shipped to Spain.
Much of the country lives in poverty, however Panama has the
highest income per-capita of all of the Central American
countries.
In Bocas, the food, architecture, and language are different
to other parts of the country, as it originates from other
parts of the Caribbean. Everything still goes slow in the
city, despite the development boom and tourism at a high.
The national marine park is currently protecting mangroves,
reefs and many species of Caribbean wildlife.
The School
Founded in 1998, our school is located right in the centre
of town. During the busy seasons the school grounds are
packed with students and teachers alike, enjoying classes
and relaxing in the little huts on the balcony or in the
cafes around campus. There are areas specifically set aside
for studying, and a well-equip library for resources. The
scenic gardens are uniquely filled with palm trees and
banana plants, and the main town area is only a short walk
from here.
Our school is perfect for adventurous people that want to
learn Spanish at a relaxed pace. You can also take up other
activities such as diving, surfing and sailing, as well as
being amongst the culture and lifestyle of Bocas.
Our school works on a step-by-step method, meaning we won’t
move you to the next step until we know that you can put
into practice what you’ve learned. This means that you may
meet new people in different groups regularly during the
program in order to maintain smooth functioning and to
maximize your study result.
