Spain- Granada Granada, in south-east Andalsia, is located 55km from the Costa Tropical, 30kms from the southernmost ski resort in Europe, where the World Skiing Championships of 1996 were held.  The area is also handy for many other can’t-miss visits on any tour in the south of Spain, such as the Alpujarras, the Cazorla Natural Park, Seville, Cordoba, Beda and Baeza.  Granada is extremely geographically diverse, with its deserts and snow, and seas and mountains, its magical light and its Moorish nights. Granada is a melting-pot of cultures which, over time, have left their mark on the city, and which we can admire in many areas: Arabic and Roman, Andalusian and Romany, universal and Hispanic. Granada is also full of contrasts, displaying side by side the ancient, the classical and the modern and spontaneous.  Granada is one of the best places to learn Spanish in the whole of Spain! The School  The school is in the style of a Carmen, a typical house of Granada, with gardens and views.  It is located in the main centre of the ancient neighbourhood of the Albaicin in a pedestrian street. There are 7 well equipped classrooms, complete with video, DVD, CDrom and HiFi.  There is a library, movie and music collection, didactic material, and cafes, gardens and views for our students to enjoy. There are a maximum of 6 students per class, and the lessons are based on a rotation of teachers, who also lead extracurricular activities that are programmed weekly. The Highlights The program of activities is changed every two weeks, providing opportunities for you to show, reinforce and enjoy what they have learned in the classroom.  These activities can include: thematic evenings, musical evenings, Spanish Movie strips, excursions and various sports activities.  They are all Spanish speaking, making them a great way to practice your Spanish! In winter, why not spend a weekend skiing in Sierra Nevada.  In spring take up tennis of swimming or perhaps a trip to Cazorla, or maybe to Morocco, looking out at the sea from the desert sands.  Spend some time bathing in the crystal clear water of the nearby coast in the summer, or take a boat trip to hidden caves. Enjoy supper on some idyllic terrace in a genuine and authentic Spanish village.  The possibilities and ideas of spontaneity are endless! Accommodation All accommodation here is located within a maximum of 15 minutes from the school on foot. Spanish family Our families have been accommodating students for many years, and they enjoy living and communicating with them.  In a family, students will live a real Spanish lifestyle, helping them to improve their Spanish greatly. Shared Flat You can choose to share a flat with other students from the school or with Spanish flatmates.  The accommodation is very comfortable, and usually has two bedrooms.  The flats have a television, most also have a telephone, washing machine, and a weekly cleaning service.  We also offer standard individual luxury flats near the school.  Hotels/Hostels Many handy hotels and hostels in the area mean you can choose to stay in any style of these, at an affordable cost.
